» Brooklyn Novelty is the brainchild of local Greenpoint area artists, Derick Holt & Milton Carter. Derick and Milton met at college in the early 2000s and have been collaborating on various projects ever since. Brooklyn Novelty was conceived in early 2008 as a brand of localized souvenirs to capture the spirit of the neighborhood while paying homage to tourism's golden age. BN's first project was mapping out the Williamsburg & Greenpoint neighborhoods as seen through D & M's personal experiences over the last decade. Currently that map has been printed on a limited run of custom-made tote bags. In the coming months BN plan on bringing more products to the market that capture the cultural nuances of our time.

» Derick Holt is a culinary and graphic artist hailing from Bad News, Virginia. He stays busy designing for the hospitality, fashion, and publishing industries. His hobbies and interests include, but are not limited to, car camping, printmaking, thrifting, lawn sports (lawn darts excluded), fondue, barbeque, carousing, american heritage, crafts, etc.

» Milton Carter is a no-good layabout that occasionally makes something. His clothing brand, M. Carter has been kicking around with varying success since 2003 when he dyed a t-shirt in a garbage can. When not stressing out about production problems or overdue invoices, he can be found riding bikes, house sitting, yard sale-ing, beach combing, playing records, cooling off with a water hose, eating, cooking, hosting and/or making crude sketches on a bar napkin.
